SUMMARY:McConnell Library Knit-a-thon
DESCRIPTION:KnitFit Community Knit-a-thon\nRescheduled to: Saturday April 4th\, 2020\, 9 am to 4 pm \nMcConnell Library\, 50 Falmouth St\, Sydney. \nDue to heating issues at the McConnell Library\, this year’s Knit Fit Community Knit-a-thon had to be postponed and has been rescheduled to Sat April 4th from 9 am to 4 pm. Knitters and crocheters of all stripes\, new or experienced\, are invited to come to the Knit-a-thon at the McConnell Library to lend their skills for charity and help raise funds for Childrens’ Library programs! \nStart a project with yarn and needles provided\, or knit or crochet items you have started at home\, but come for a fun day of camaraderie and creativity. There will be door prizes and a light lunch will be provided. \nAll library branches accept donations of yarn\, needles\, finished items\, or funds towards the Knit-a-thon throughout the year. Finished items are donated to many local charities that help people and families in need. \nMonetary donations and pledges sponsoring the Knit-a-thon crafters go to support Children’s Literacy programs at Cape Breton Regional Library branches throughout the region\, including the Summer Reading Program\, story time programs\, special literacy events\, and teen programs. \nCome and see the special patterns\, designed by knitter and library supporter Barb Landry\, for sale in support of CBRL Children’s programs! There will be spinning and weaving demonstrations as well as knitting and crocheting\, so anyone interested is welcome to come and check out the action. \nFor more information about the KnitFit Community Knit-a-thon\, and to obtain a pledge form\, ask at your local library branch or go to our website at www.cbrl.ca.
