DESCRIPTION:The Ally Centre of Cape Breton will be working with Public Health to recognize World Hepatitis Day on Thursday July 26th 2018. Out of the 325 million people living with viral hepatitis globally\, upward of 290 million (that’s 9 in 10!) are living with hepatitis B or hepatitis C and don’t know it. This year\, the call to action is\, “find the missing millions”. In Canada\, an estimated 250\,000 people have hepatitis C and nearly half of the population with Hep C do not know they are infected. Until we diagnosis the “missing millions”\, eliminating hepatitis will not be achievable. We invite and encourage all members of the community to join us on Thursday July 26th from 11:00am- 2:00pm outside of the Ally Centre (150 Bentinck Street) to come learn about hepatitis\, learn some prevention strategies\, win some cool prizes and receive confidential Hepatitis C testing.
