DESCRIPTION:The Glace Bay Library is planning a Family Literacy Day event for 28th February 2017. This event will be in conjunction with Family Literacy Day 2017 & Harry Potter Book Night 2017. For grades 3 and up from 6pm-8pm Here at the Glace Bay Library\, young wizards\, witches & muggles will be treated to an evening of games\, activities\, readings and quizzes. It all begins when the Sorting Hat decides who will be in which house\, and houses will be competing for house points throughout the evening. Challenges and activities will include Transfiguration games\, readings from our favourite Harry Potter books & the Hogwarts Hall of Fame Quiz! We’ll be decorating the library and creating our own professors’ offices as well. \nSee you on February 28th. \n

The McConnell Library will host a special performance of this story featuring two master musicians from Mali: singer Hawa Kassé Mady Diabaté accompanied on balafon by Fodé Lassana Diabaté\, with poetic translation by Professor Cherif Keita. \nThe evening will include a film\, discussion and musical performance.
