Potlotek water

Government officials met with residents of the Potlotek first nation to outline options for the water problem.

They said they will begin drilling test wells within days to locate a new source of clean drinking water rather than taking it from a lake as is currently done.

Health Canada’s Dr. David Jones said the discolouration is worst this time of year.  Jones said the focus is on getting a permanent source of good water, and in the meantime; supplying clean bottled and bulk water to the community for consumption, housecleaning; and bathing.
