Glace Bay changes

The Glace Bay Hospital’s obstetrics theatre will be closed soon and babies will be born at the regional hospital in Sydney.

Family physician Michael Gallivan says while he’ll be delivering babies in Sydney his practice and prenatal care will continue in Glace Bay, as will Dr. Stephanie Ellerker, the only other doctor providing maternity services in Glace Bay at the perinatal clinic.

The Health Authority will be adding a family practice nurse and social worker at the Sterling Health Centre.
