3rd Annual Wentworth Park Fishing Derby
Join in a family fun event at Wentworth Park Saturday May 16th/2026. The fishing derby is for children 15 and under and is organized by Cape Breton Island Wildlife association in Partnership with CBRM, NS Department of Inland Fisheries, Nova Scotia Federation of Anglers and Hunters, Unama ki Institute of Natural Resources and Department of Natural Resources. Prizes awarded for the largest fish. The event runs from 10 Am until 2PM. Registration is at the Byng Ave entrance.

2026 Cape Breton MS Walk is on Sunday May 31st at Emera Centre North Sydney. Registration starts at 1 pm and the Opening Ceremonies kick off at 2 pm with special musical guests Breagh Kelly and the Heritage African Drummers. This is a day for all those living with multiple sclerosis, their families and community to show support through awareness, advocacy and education. Come celebrate the power of community at Cape Breton MS Walk!
