Introduction to Seed Saving Thurs. Oct. 20 6-8 pm McConnell Library (50 Falmouth St., Sydney) Michelle Smith—a farmer, seed-saver, and gardening columnist with over 30 years' experience growing in our bioregion—is returning to the McConnell Library this fall to provide tips on saving your vegetable seeds. Come and join the Parkinson Society and have some fun.  Happening from 2-4PM at Club 55, on the corner of Prince and Bentinck, Sydney.  You may dress up, but you don't have to.  Mr. Duo will be entertaining with Rock and Roll, Country and Country Rock.  Admission $5.00 and anyone is welcome.

A canned milk drive organized by Mickey’s Original Six Society is currently underway. Canned and powdered milk for the food bank can be dropped off in the lobby at the Dominion Rink daily from 9 a.m. to midnight until Nov. 6. You can also call Mickey McNeil at 902-849-4320 if you want him to pick up your milk donation.

Fall Seniors Café: Safe Medicines for Seniors and Caregivers Tues. Oct. 25 1:30-3:30 pm McConnell Library (50 Falmouth St., Sydney) A helpful session to grow our understanding on the safe and proper use of medicines. Maggie Roach (Caregivers NS) & Brandon Toner (Pharmacist, The Medicine Shoppe) will share in the presentation and Q&A. Sheila Schuehlein with CBRM’s new Senior Safety Program will also talk about the VON’s Vial of Life program. No registration necessary. All are welcome.

Our community group LAPPS is having out annual Pumpkin Stroll on the Louisbourg Boardwalk on Thursday, October 27th from 6-730 We are having Beavertails , Colbournes care community food Truck, and fire performers Stephanie McPhee and Devon MacIsaac. People decorate pumpkins and bring them down to the boardwalk to be on display in to be judged for the funniest, scariest, most creative.
