The PJ Walk for Kids is a family-oriented and fun community event that symbolizes the walk that families make together from the Ronald McDonald House to the IWK Health Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The 6th annual PJ Walk for Kids will take place on June 12th, 2022 in Charlottetown, Halifax, Moncton, Saint John, Sydney, and virtually, across the Maritimes. Participate with your friends and family, your school, your workplace, or by yourself!

After tragedy struck Haley Street building 3 years ago, they are now ready to reopen their doors.  June 17th from 2pm-4pm Haley Street will have the official ribbon cutting of their brand new building located at 26 Haley St, in North Sydney.

People First Nova Scotia are a group dedicated to equality for people labelled with an intellectual or developmental disability.  They are currently seeking to start a People First chapter here in Cape Breton. Building on last year’s “Better Together” digital presentation, Cape Breton Regional Municipality presents their “Night of Lights” event to take place on July 1 at Open Hearth Park in Sydney. The community event will feature a children’s stage, activities for all ages, and live music headlined by platinum selling artists Crash Test Dummies and Cape Breton’s own Carleton Stone.
